Designed by Goodmate Travel and artist Sara Tepes (@sarucatepes), this 7-day retreat invites you to see Korea through an artist’s eyes. You’ll sketch in royal courtyards, stroll through artisan alleys, and paint beside Jeju’s sparkling shores. With every workshop and shared meal, you’ll connect with local culture, fellow creatives, and your own artistic spark — discovering inspiration in every corner of Seoul and Jeju.

Welcome to Korea! After settling into your hotel in the heart of Seoul, we’ll gather for a cozy welcome dinner to meet Sara and your fellow artists. Enjoy local comfort food, laughter, and conversation as you ease into the creative week ahead. Sara will guide a relaxed first sketch session to help everyone unwind, loosen up, and connect through art. You’ll also receive a special travel art kit as your creative companion for the journey.

Step into Korea’s royal past with a guided visit to Gyeongbokgung Palace, where you’ll try on a hanbok and sketch the palace’s grand architecture and serene courtyards. Enjoy a colorful bibimbap lunch before visiting a local artist’s studio for an inspiring workshop led by Sara. In the evening, dive into Seoul’s street food culture with a guided tour through Gwangjang Market, and wrap up the night with an optional visit to Myeongdong’s Olive Young Town for a little K-beauty fun.

Spend the day exploring Seoul’s creative neighborhoods. Start in Ikseondong, where charming alleyways are filled with craft shops, handmade stamps, and cozy cafes perfect for sketching. Learn to make traditional Korean food for lunch before heading to Hongdae, the city’s art university district, to browse local design shops and galleries. In the afternoon, enjoy drawing time at a concept cafe or by the Han River in Mangwon. End the day with a lively Korean BBQ dinner and optional karaoke with your fellow artists.

Fly to Jeju Island and take in the fresh coastal air as the next chapter of your art journey begins. After lunch in Jeju City, head to Hamdeok Beach for a relaxing afternoon of sketching by the sea during Sara’s third workshop. Later, visit Seongsan Ilchulbong, a stunning volcanic crater and UNESCO World Heritage site, before gathering for dinner at Haenyeo’s Kitchen to celebrate the island’s legendary women divers and their incredible spirit.

Wake up to the sound of ocean waves and spend the morning on a scenic sketch walk along the Handam Coastal Trail and Gwakji Beach. Enjoy lunch with a view near Hyeopjae Beach, then visit the O’Sulloc Green Tea House for a peaceful one-on-one mentoring session with Sara over tea. In the afternoon, explore the Arte Museum, where digital art and light installations spark new creative ideas. End the evening with a relaxed Korean pub-style dinner, sharing stories and laughter with your travel companions.

Spend your final full day in Jeju soaking in the island’s peaceful landscapes and creative energy. Begin the morning sketching at the beautiful Cheonjiyeon Waterfall before enjoying lunch at Seogwipo Olle Market. In the afternoon, unwind with a gentle walk and foot bath at Meochewat Forest, followed by one-on-one mentoring time with Sara. The day ends with a heartfelt final workshop and a special sketchbook reveal session, where everyone shares their favorite pieces and memories. Celebrate your creative journey together over a farewell BBQ dinner and karaoke night.

Enjoy a scenic morning drive along Jeju’s Rainbow Coastal Road with quick sketch and photo stops at Dodubong Hill. We’ll have one last café break and group lunch near the airport before taking an afternoon flight back to Seoul. Your trip officially ends upon arrival, but the memories, art, and friendships made will stay with you long after.

Hi! I’m Sara, an artist, author, and lifelong creative joining you on this art-filled journey through Korea. I’ve been sharing my work online since I was 15, and after a decade of developing my own style, I’m thrilled to explore Seoul and Jeju with you. Together, we’ll sketch palaces, beaches, and city streets, learn new techniques, and celebrate creativity in every form. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned artist, I’ll be there to inspire, guide, and cheer you on every step of the way.

Our tours offer a Small Group Experience, typically with an average of 16 participants and a maximum of 24.

During our trips, rooms are typically allocated on a twin-share basis. For solo travelers, we match them with another traveler of the same gender, as indicated by the gender marker on their application form. However, if you prefer your own private space, the option to reserve an individual room is also available on most of our trips. If you’re traveling with a friend or partner, you’re welcome to request to share a room together — just let us know in the notes section when booking.

You have the option to make a one-time payment or take advantage of our deposit and final payment plan. To secure your reservation, a 20% deposit is required. The remaining 80% of the tour cost must be paid in full no later than 90 days before the tour’s start date.

For cancellations made 60 days before the trip, you will receive a refund, minus a non-refundable 10% deposit. If you cancel between 15 and 59 days before the trip, we will refund 50% of the total trip cost. For cancellations made 8 to 14 days before the trip, you will receive a 30% refund. Unfortunately, no refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 7 days of the trip.
*Bookings made within 24 hours are eligible for a full refund, with a 3% deduction from the paid amount for credit card processing fees.

If there are places on your itinerary where this may pose a challenge, we will notify you in advance. Traveling with Goodmate Travel requires you to have comprehensive insurance covering cancellation, personal injury, death, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, evacuation expenses, personal liability, loss of personal property, and COVID-related expenses before embarking on your journey. It’s crucial to ensure that your insurance also extends to all the activities you plan to enjoy, especially if you’re an adrenaline enthusiast indulging in adventure activities.
